After the liberation from corset, the garments became loose.
The silhouette became less structured.New design houses began to emerge. The couture became a tool for the wealthy to retaliate to the mechanism of the industrial revolution,a way of displaying privilege and appreciation for quality.
This are some of the examples of the clothings from then.

This is a peplum jacket which is much looser
from the garments before.

week2 S-bend

S-bend corsets, straight-front corsets or “health” corsets were invented in the early 1900’s during the Edwardian era and popularized by the Gibson Girls. At the time, the S-bend was thought to be healthier for the wearer as it placed less direct pressure on the front of the abdomen

The S-Bend Posture: Illustrations versus Reality
Valerie Steele, in her book "The Corset", declares that straight front corset, when laced even moderately tightly, pushed the abdomen back, threw the breasts forward and arched the back (p.84).   This certainly appears to be the case in fashion illustrations like those below, but does it show in photographs of real women? It's certainly possible to hold a slanted, sway back posture for a few moments.
